Lanakila Meals On Wheels and Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union are joining forces to end food insecurity among kupuna. With 1 in 6 seniors facing hunger each day and 1 in 4 living in isolation, you can help ensure that our seniors are connected to food, their communities, and to each other.
Visit any Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union branch to purchase this limited-edition t-shirt for just $20 and you’ll be enriching the lives of seniors across the island. Together, we can end kupuna hunger and nourish for life.
In a special collaboration with world-renowned Chef Alan Wong, Lanakila Kitchen introduces its new Apple Butter Mochi this holiday season. As a proponent of healthier living, Chef Alan inspired Lanakila Kitchen to innovate one of its baked goods by incorporating healthier ingredients like monk fruit sweetener and the superfood ginger. This sweet treat is available now for a limited time only at Don Quijote, Marukai and Times Supermarket locations.
Presented by Lanakila Meals on Wheels, the 13th annual The Good Table delivers incredible meals from top restaurants straight to your door. From June 7-11, choose from a different selection of menus from across the island, ready to be enjoyed at home – and all to benefit the seniors of Lanakila Meals on Wheels. Celebrate the wonderful flavors found on Oahu and support the fight against senior hunger! Participating restaurants change each night, so you can try a new meal every day of the week!
Everything is Connected
Meal Preparation
Each senior meal is prepped, cooked, and packed in our very own Lanakila Kitchen. In addition to being made on-site, all dishes are USDA compliant and reviewed by a registered dietician to ensure they provide at least 1/3 of a senior’s required daily nutrition.
Packing
Once the trays are properly frozen, Lanakila Meals on Wheels volunteers parcel out and deliver the weekly supply to seniors across the island. Each meal contains an entrée, starch, vegetable, fruit, wheat bread, margarine, and low-fat milk.
Delivery
Seniors receive their pack of meals once a week along with a friendly smile. From the convenience of a microwaveable meal to talking story with their volunteer, our kupuna continue to build their independence and thrive.
