Volunteer Requirements:

  • Completed volunteer application
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • TB test with a negative result (within the last 10 years)
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Clean driving record (delivery volunteers only!)
  • 2 (two) non-family, adult references

  1. Complete the online volunteer application.
  2. Receive a phone call from a Lanakila Pacific staff member to get to know more about you and your interests.
  3. Lanakila Pacific will run a criminal background check and reach out to the references listed on your application.
  4. Attend a volunteer orientation session.

Once you’ve completed all of the required steps, you’re ready to volunteer!




Lanakila Meals on Wheels is Hawaii’s largest and only island-wide home delivered meal provider for seniors and individuals with disabilities. We’re always looking for energetic volunteers who want to help package or deliver meals.

Home Delivery Driver

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Saturday, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Deliver meals and aloha to kupuna and individuals with disabilities across the island. Each route has an average of 6-8 homes and takes less than two hours to complete. Volunteers must have access to a reliable vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.


Meal Packer

Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM, Saturday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Bundle meals or side items (fruit, bread, and milk) to be delivered to recipients. The typical meal packaging shift takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete and is performed at our main facility on Bachelot Street.

On Saturday mornings, volunteer groups join us to package frozen meals to be delivered to our seniors. This is the perfect opportunity for your company, religious organization, club or even a hui of friends to promote team building while having fun!


Kupuna Wellness Centers provide free senior activities to individuals 60 years and older. We’re always looking for engaging volunteers who want to help seniors have fun and enjoy the time they spend together.  There are 4 Kupuna Wellness Center locations: Kakaako, Ewa Beach, Waianae, and Wahiawa.

Kupuna Wellness Center (KWC) Program Assistant

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Support the Kupuna Wellness Center Coordinators with set-up, clean-up, recreation activities and meal service. The typical Program Assistant volunteer shift is 3 hours at a Kupuna Wellness Center location.


Kupuna Wellness Center Guest Speaker/Performer

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Share your area of expertise with our seniors.  Whether you want to give a performance or teach our seniors something new, Volunteer Guest Speakers/Performers are invited to share their talents with the group.  Past guests include healthcare educators, cast members from Cirque du Soleil, ukulele performers, Tai Chi instructors, origami enthusiasts, craft instructors, and singers.


Lanakila Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) offers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to master basic life skills that are sometimes taken for granted. By focusing on each person’s individual needs, TLC provides in-house classes, community outings and recreational opportunities that help participants expand their life experiences and foster a sense of independence.

TLC Coordinator Assistant

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Help program coordinators conduct daily lessons and activities. Tasks include helping participants engage in activities, complete worksheets and crafts, and walk to and from restrooms, cafeteria, and snack shop.
